KOBI's Collaborations... some past examples

2008: Baker Cemetery sadly in need of TLC.
Collaborative efforts-- Just as Baker Island has many meanings to many people, quite a few organizations have a vested interest in its care. KOBI hopes to be able to help serve as a hub of information about the island, and also help coordinate efforts in terms of projects.
In the past, members of KOBI have enjoyed opportunities to help other interested organizations. Some examples:

Friends of Acadia attempted to hold its annual meeting on the Dancing Rocks (sadly relocated for weather after extensive schlepping of cartons of wine and lovely picnic baskets up from the landing!)

The Islesford Historical Society, in a project spearheaded by Hugh Dwelley, gave the Baker Island Cemetery a much needed restoration. KOBI members were glad to be able to assist in the assessment, preparation, and finally the project itself! This was a cheerful (if hot and buggy) day of hard work, attended by Islesford residents, past and present, and Gilley descendants.  KOBI continues to offer ongoing support in the routine care and maintenance of the cemetery.
