My path to Baker Island was simply having the privilege of following two of the Islands recent great supporters, Elizabeth and Henry Kolm (my in-laws). As their guest I had an opportunity to learn about the Island, enjoy its beauty and see first hand the model of stewardship they created. I had the privilege to work with them in both maintaining their Schoolhouse and supporting the Park's efforts on the island.
Despite the passing of both Elizabeth and Henry, I hope we can continue to move forward in ways that they would have appreciated. Their love for, and dedication to Baker will be missed.
Over the past 30 years I have had the great fortune of working a wide range of occupations that have provided me with a diverse skill set. This seems to be useful on Baker and in my off island efforts (for KOBI) to work with the Park, raise both awareness and money and of course reach into the greater MDI/Acadia communities.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or thoughts you might wish to share. Typically while on island I work along pretty diligently on projects, but always enjoy visiting.
Of note, we have many visitors each year and I do not have the best eye for connecting faces to names, even those generous individuals who have made donations! Please accept my apologies and reintroduce yourself!
John

Walking the Bar to Ilesford a few years back with Pheobe Jane. Judging from the nearly empty backpack, most likely a trip off Baker.
